Well, well, well....here we are again. I'm behind and I can't even think of catching up. Life sure can be hectic with a baby. So last time we talked I was in the process of making baby food for my little guy. Since then he has become a major piglet. He loves his food, as well as anyone else's (no he doesn't get to enjoy our food just cries and licks his lips) I've made green beans, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, and sweet potatoes. I made some peaches yesterday that he will get to dabble in here shortly. Can I tell you how much I love making my own baby food? It is very simple and I feel like I'm cooking the little bugger actual dinner. Not to mention very cost effective ;) His favorite of course is the sweet potato. Any recommendations on some big hits your children have had? They say eggplant but sorry I just can't imagine it....especially since I haven't ever had it myself.

This toy is his favorite! He loves to pull on it the whole time we're in the car.  As you can see he even fell asleep mid pull...aww...  Daren and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary- woot, woot- and it included a drive to Layton in which Hudson pulled on the toy the entire time.

I'm a horrible mother, I make Hudson wear his sunglasses.  Doesn't he look like Daren with those on?  He actually really doesn't mind them.
Hudson got to enjoy his first USU football game.  No, not an actual game yet....but one from the comfort of our own my parents home.  I don't know how much he actually loved it but I know I sure did!  Oh how I've missed you football!  Hands down my favorite outfit of his though.  He looked just down right adorable!
I wish I had more to share about out anniversary but nothing worth documenting. It is a wonderful, hilarious memory but nothing more can be said about it. 5 years and I still love the dude!  My family- the dogs are in the ghetto-rigged kennel for the 4 wheeler- is practically perfect in every way!

4 Months....Whoooosh...

I honestly can not believe how fast the past four months have flown by! Hudson gets better and better every day.  He is so much fun these days! He loves to laugh and smile.  It is so hard to remember how he was... thank goodness for a blog I suppose.

This video  is the best I could do with him smiling.  He gets so confused by the camera so I had to tickle his belly.  It doesn't even really do it justice. I could just eat him up!

[How do you post videos to blogger? Does the way you post them always take FOR-EV-ER?]
Being at work without him sucks but he is in such good hands! I only work 2 1/2 days a week.  Lately he has been coming home with a mohawk after Debbie has had him.  Oh my goodness...I love him so much.
We went to the doctor last week.  He really actually didn't grow as much as I would have thought. He seems just gigantic to me!
Weight: 14.5 lbs-- 40%
Height: 25.5 inches-- 71%
Tall and skinnish? Who would have thought....  He did not like the shots this time.  He was screaming for the longest time.  However, he LOVED the oral vaccine.  He is odd, but adorable!!
This video is the first time he ate rice cereal.  I wouldn't watch this whole video, it gets old.  And totally ignore our baby voices.  You don't realize just how awful it is until you hear yourself.

{This is where the video would have been but good grief I've tried for 3 days to load it....not working... suggestions would be appreciated}

I decided to attempt to make my own baby food since Hudson did so well with the rice cereal.  A big thanks to Susan, my MIL, who gave us a whole lot of veggies from her garden.  We'll see if Hudson likes green beans and carrots.  I haven't quite figured out how you're suppose to work solid foods into the routine that has worked so well for us the past 4 months,  perhaps I'm just over thinking it all?

Cousins

Hey everyone! It's me, Hudson.  Or as my mom calls me Little Mister.  I just wanted to let you know that we're doing ok.  We've had as busy of a summer as my mom can stand.  My cousins, Xander,Lil and Andrew, moved back so we get to hang out with them all the time.  Here are some of the fun things we have done so far this summer.
All of my cousins, except Andrew he's too small just like me, performed some plays for us.  They were definitely so entertaining.

We got to celebrate both Xander and Lil's birthday.  Xander wanted to ride the saddle at Texas Roadhouse.  He is so silly, he hates loud noises so he covered his ears when we all yelled Yeehaw!
Lil had a Tangle themed party.  My mom ate lots of jello, that made her have quite the sugar high.  We got to watch people ice block as well.
For the 24th(really the 25th) of July we went to the parade. It was my first time hanging out outside with no shade around.  My mom loaded the sunscreen on in fear that I have the Boston skin.  It was too hot for little boys to sit on mom's lap. We were all so sweaty.
And just because my momma loves me....here are some adorable pictures of my cute face.

Swim Night 2011

Last night was my dad's swim night! It was kind of a big deal this year since my brother graduated and is back and ready to start practicing dentistry!

I was more than happy to have the I have a baby excuse as to why there was no swimming this year. Hudson was a dream and slept the entire time.  Except I am excited for next year to have him splash in the water!

And I know I complain about being back to work and away from Hudson during the day but I really have missed everyone, the staff and patients.  I work with a group of the best people.  It will take some getting use to having my brother there but he is honestly a good time!
Thanks to Tiffany for the pictures

12 Weeks

It takes 12 weeks to fall madly in love with your son
12 weeks is as long of a maternity leave as I took....and I miss him lots and lots!

It took 12 weeks to finally meet one of your (future) best friends Hudson
(That is Mandy Matousek's little boy Hudson born just a few days after my Hudson...
no we didn't know that they'd be named the same thing)

In the 12 weeks Hudson has been with us his neck has grown stronger and stronger...
He is seriously a muscle man
Thank goodness he started loving the bath by 12 weeks
Look at his chubs
It took 12 weeks for me to feel completely comfortable with his sleeping and feeding schedule.  He is a champ.  Everyone who is around him tells me how well I've "trained" him.
In 12 weeks your son can completely change! When he was 4 weeks old he was
not nearly as "filled out" as he is here
I'm saying that it took 12 weeks for him to become a loyal Aggie fan ;)

In 12 weeks he has started paying more attention to his "big sister" Meli. He loves to just stare at her and figure out just what is going on.  We also like to pet her with his hand.

Gigantic Catch Up

Ok, Hudson is content in his swing so I'm going to get working real hard on catching up because I doubt I'll ever catch up if I keep putting this off! Ready, set, go...

Hudson's Blessing
June 5, 2011

Hudson's blessing was a success, if I do say so myself!  The plan sounded crazy but boy was I going to make it work.  The man of the day behaved so well for getting absolutely NO nap in.  Who knows what we were thinking when we decided to have the blessing at our home with around 50 people.  They were definitely crammed in but I loved it and wouldn't have changed a thing (slight exaggeration) Hudson looked so handsome in his white tux.
Daren's dad, Cregg, gave a beautiful blessing!  I appreciate all of the travelling most of the guests put in to be here on his big day.  Not to mention everyone who chipped in with the food! There was definitely plenty of food.

2 Month Appointment

Remember how I said a couple days ago that we thought this kid had grown like a foot?  Well, we weren't that off.  I was looking forward to his 2 month appointment just so I could find out just how much the kid had grown.
Weight- 12 lbs 15 ounces- 72%
Length- 24 inches- 80%
Head- 16 something or other- 78%
(I really don't care about this part....his head is FINE folks)

He was such a brave boy when he was getting his shots!  He didn't even cry (I almost did) But he sure wasn't happy later that night.  My goodness I've never seen him this upset. Once I did get some very yummy grape medicine in him he was out cold though.  I now understand what people mean when I say his getting fussy is nothing.  That's right, I have the perfect child!!

Father's Day

That Daddy my little guy has LOVES him! Daren seriously is a superb dad.  Father's day was kind of pathetic this year. Hudson seriously lights up when he hears Daren come home.

I got Daren a little cheesy, fish themed gift.  I think what I did was really sweet, that's all that matters sometimes, right?

And Just Cause I Love Him....

Monday, June 13, 2011

Where on earth does the time go?! I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted.  My only non-baby thing to mention is Michael graduated! I was so happy Hudson slept the whole time, ok we did leave early because that was a long list of students! Michael did a cute little wave thing when they called his name.
Hudson is a grinning fool these days! He smiles all the time.  Especially when he hears and sees his daddy. He really loves being on his changing table.  That's when we have our best conversations. I think in part it is because he loves being naked.
I think he grew like a foot! He seems to have gotten a lot taller.  I have had to put away a lot of clothes due to them not fitting anymore.  I can't believe he's already outgrown clothes!
Is that sad face adorable? I was taking some pictures of him in his blessing outfit and he was not happy! I think he's such a sweet baby. Next up, a post on his blessing and 2 month appointment.  2 months, can you believe it?!
