9 Months and A Lil Family

We had family pictures taken October 29, yes I'm just getting to posting them.  I'm crazy apparently! Well, originally it was because of Christmas cards but I really would have done it sooner but I forgot. I loved getting family pictures with Hudson.  He was such a trooper!  He is only 6 1/2 months in these pictures and I can already tells how much he has changed!
We were crazy for attempting to have the dogs in the pictures with us.  That was almost too much work but you knew I would give it a try! I want to think it'll be easier when Hudson is older but I think he will be a nightmare.  He was the perfect age, just barely able to sit in small amounts of time on his own.  I love my little family.  It gets better and better each day.
Now, here we are...Hudson is now 9 months old and is turning into a boy to me, not so much baby boy anymore.  He could not be sweeter.
  •  He wants to crawl, really bad, but I don't want him to. He can spin in a circle but that ends it.  He lays his head down on the ground when he's given up. His doctor said there is a very good chance he is one of the kids who will just skip crawling.
  • His first tooth finally broke through! Not that I was desperate for it to happen either, but his little white pearly in there is so adorable. But the drool that has come with it is so bad! It kind of grosses me out.
  • He eats loads and loads of food.  He loves it.  Hudson will eat just about anything that is put in front of him. I would tell you what his favorites are but I seriously can't think of anything he doens't love.  I guess he's like me and loves food.  Except he cries when the veggies are all gone.  That is NOT like me.
  • We went to the dr yesterday...he is currently 19 and a half pounds (30%) and 29 inches tall (78%).  His head is still large, not of the charts large but it's large. We don't need to go into details about it.  It's perfect for me!
  • He walks.  Not alone obviously nor does he hold onto furniture and cruise.  He holds your hands.  Whoever decided to not inform me to not start him on that little trick would have been super nice. So, don't let your child start "walking" It has become tiring real fast.
  •  Hudson enjoys life.  Seriously.  It takes a lot to upset him.  Maybe I'm too easy going or maybe I was given a dream child.  I'll take the latter.
  • He pulls the most hilarious faces! He is a comedian.  I spend hours a day trying to get him to pull his faces.  However, his angry face is not one I should've started because he is starting to do it when he is upset then laughs at me. But the video below is one that Kelsi got the other day of his other face.  It is very similar to a face my family calls the "Kelsi face".  Oh my sweet goodness, he is so sweet.

...Holidays...

The holidays were exhausting to me this year.  I was ready to go, go, go each and every day the past week and a half but now that I have a second to catch my breath, I realize just how tired and ready for a break I am.  I loved each and every minute of it though!  We started out at Daren's parents house this year for Christmas.  There was a minor bump in the road and we thought all Gordon side plans were going to be put off but all is well (at least as far as I know so far) with Cregg so we forged ahead with the plans.  We left early on Christmas Eve.  And what better way to spend the day, we watched Swamp Brothers and Sons of Guns.  Definitely my kind of shows.  But Daren loves to soak up as much brother time as possible when we are down there. As long as his dad was home he didn't care what we did as long as we were together.
Hudson's first Christmas morning was pretty great if I do say so myself.  Santa decided to not try to find us until we were home, we'll get to that later.  So we opened up gifts from the Gordons that morning.  Hudson's baby Elmo is delightful. He cries...then Hudson tries to copy the sound. He obviously didn't understand a thing about it but just like every said, he did like wrapping paper.  But he'd grab a small piece and just hold it.

Even Uncle Eric got to stop by.  We didn't think we'd see him but he got a day pass and surprised us! Unfortunately, Daren and his brothers had left to go shooting.  But at least Hudson and Eric got to see each other.

We finally got to meet sweet Fynnigan.  He was born the first part of November.  He is SO tiny! You don't realize how big your child as gotten until you hold a baby that is as light as a feather.   Oh, one day these two will be best friends.
Like I had said, once we got home on Christmas Santa had stopped by with some goodies. Santa brought me one of the greatest gifts I've ever gotten.  A DVD of a movie that I loved as a child.  How did Santa ever know.
The Barney movie was a hit.  I love Barney (should I be admitting this? Probably not) He actually ended up getting 3 other Barney videos from the McCauls for Christmas.
The McCauls came up from St. George to celebrate with the Boston gang for a couple of days.  We had a breakfast at Kelsi's house and opened gifts.  I seriously love having Hudson get gifts.  It makes it way more fun.  I had sent The Wisconsin Bostons their gift which they apparently opened on Christmas, not even sure but they were a big hit!!! My friend Chelsea makes hats and things all for a good cause.  Check her out You can even see the hats I had her make for their family there.  It's the Chicago Bear ones! Fabulous, right?
I can't believe these are the only pictures I got while the McCauls were here!! Their girls entertained us one night singing and dancing.  I love seeing my family. It's always too long between visits, especially now with Hudson I feel like they need to all soak up Hudson time more often too.

Hudson feeds the dogs now! NOOOOOO! I'm going to have to start kenneling them while he eats or something because I can not handle it. It actually is really sweet.  But those dogs can not be beggers.

Also, I'm loving this sunny warm weather we're having.  We went on a walk yesterday and took Hudson in the baby-to-go.  How hilarious is that!!

The Famous Potato Bowl

That's right folks, I got to head to Boise to watch my boys once again on the smurf turf! But this year, unlike last year where we knew they'd lose, it was HUGE that they made it to a bowl game.  The weather was FANTASTIC up there! I still am thinking I am kind of crazy for bringing Hudson a long but I wasn't going to miss the opportunity just in case it never happens again (it will though, right?) just because I'm a mom now.  It was our first adventure spending the night in a hotel.   Truth be told, he's only not spent the night at our house two nights which were at Daren's parent's house. As if I haven't said it enough times, I seriously have the best baby.  I don't know too many babies who would put up with my crazy football self as well as he did.
We made the journey early Saturday morning. I felt super rushed and felt I would probably forget something, I think I would have felt that way even if I had had all the time in the world to prepare (which, in reality, I did have plenty of time) When we were probably about 15 minutes away from Boise I realized I had forgotten my coat! Of all things to forget! My dad kept telling me I would be fine without my coat, but I insisted on stopping somewhere to get me a cheap coat just to get me by. It was a balmy 45 degrees up there!
Once we got to the game, they have the most CONFUSING seating in the world.  It shouldn't be that difficult.  But to make a long story short (I will never forget the story so I don't need it for journaling purposes) we ended up moving at least 4 times because we couldn't figure out where our real seats are.  Even the arena seaters didn't know where we were suppose to be. But where we ended up was just perfect for us! There were HEATERS! So, I really didn't need my coat I just bought. There were a lot of Boise fans around me.  Really random seeing as how we were playing Ohio. They were all freezing, even with all the alcohol that was in their system. The way the game ended was only fitting for how the season went (losing it within the last 2 minutes)
Hudson was such a good boy during the game.  The whole 3rd quarter he just slept in my arms. He was making eyes with everyone around us. I've never seen him be such a flirt before. I mean, I do think he is the most adorable baby in the world so I don't know how you couldn't want to be loving him. Even a large man was laughing with him.  Oh, sweet boy I just love you.
Other notable things from the trip were eating at Smoky Mountain after the game, where AJ ordered a cheese calzone and the waitress had never had anyone order that before, which I found incredibly strange. Had one of the roughest nights with Hudson since he was a newborn! I expected it though so it wasn't too bad. My arms still hurt from how much I held him during the weekend. Walking to Albertson's and being overcharged for a 50 cent item but not caring because I was so tired I didn't care. Also eating at the Farmhouse and the Mandarin House.
Thankfully, Hudson slept and played well in the car.  He is in love with his books these days.  He loves to give the animals kisses. I will admit, he was DONE with 20 minutes left to go.  He wanted out of the car just as much as the rest of us.  My parents are wonderful for dragging me and Huds along for the fun. Here's to hoping for another bowl (but winning it) next year!

ThanksBirthGiving Day 2011

First and foremost, I just want to scream from the rooftops how grateful I am to have this wonderful boy in my life. Hudson is just a delight to have around.  He honestly makes me wake up happy every day! As cliche as it is, I can not imagine my life without him.  I am so thankful he is such a happy, content baby.  Even his fussiest of times are bearable because of his calm demeanor. I think this 7th month has been the best month so far.  He has had some HUGE changes and wonderful changes at that.  Developmentally I feel like he has grown a bunch. It may be because I am currently working 4 days a week, so I feel like I don't get to soak up my Hudson time as much.  I also am feeling like he may be needing a little hair cut soon.  I love his curls but he looks just so goofy sometimes!

Thanksgiving was very low key this year(as it always seems to be with my side of the family). We all ate a lot of food and have been eating tons of leftovers.
Hudson was the best baby all day long.  His schedule was all thrown off and he still just hung out while we played The Name Game.
The older I get, the funnier my Grandma is. She delighted us with her chinese anecdotes.

I even went Black Friday shopping for the first time.  I will be honest, the whole time we were shopping I was hating life.  I was asking myself why I had chosen that.   But once I got home and saw just how much I had actually gotten I felt much better about it.  Maybe, just maybe, I will go again.

Oh the birthday this year has been tough! 25 sucks.  I made fun of people who said anything about turning 25 in the past but now I get it.  This label of older twenties just doesn't fit me I don't think.  I got to go the last home game for USU football.  We sat by Nevaaada fans and they were horrible.  I seriously about lost it so many times. I moved at one point and it helped.....then it really helped once we won! I will not know what to do with myself now that Saturdays will be open to do whatever.  But heck, next season will come soon enough.

7 months old

Hudson is getting better and better. He is such a happy baby! I really am so grateful for Huds being a part of my life. He is the best eater! The kbly food that he is not too sure of still is parsnips. Huds still loves to be cuddled.

We also had some family pictures taken. I dont want to post them all just yet... But there are some good ones coming later on.

So, it's football season....I feel like I eat, breath and sleep USU football these days. Hence the lack of posts.

Hudson is fun... I thought he was teething- which I was even told that that would've been a tooth- but it wasn't it was a cyst..  But Dr. said he's still teething?
I even made it down to Provo for the BYU game.... Did you know that I am terrified of Big Blue (or any mascot)? My family thinks it's hilarious and should get them around me....

Huds eye isn't getting better.  It's still as goopy as ever.  This is not a unusual site when he first wakes up.
I love this boy more than words can say! Look at how adorable he is!!! I really don't mind that my life is totally consumed by him!

Well, well, well....here we are again. I'm behind and I can't even think of catching up. Life sure can be hectic with a baby. So last time we talked I was in the process of making baby food for my little guy. Since then he has become a major piglet. He loves his food, as well as anyone else's (no he doesn't get to enjoy our food just cries and licks his lips) I've made green beans, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, and sweet potatoes. I made some peaches yesterday that he will get to dabble in here shortly. Can I tell you how much I love making my own baby food? It is very simple and I feel like I'm cooking the little bugger actual dinner. Not to mention very cost effective ;) His favorite of course is the sweet potato. Any recommendations on some big hits your children have had? They say eggplant but sorry I just can't imagine it....especially since I haven't ever had it myself.

This toy is his favorite! He loves to pull on it the whole time we're in the car.  As you can see he even fell asleep mid pull...aww...  Daren and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary- woot, woot- and it included a drive to Layton in which Hudson pulled on the toy the entire time.

I'm a horrible mother, I make Hudson wear his sunglasses.  Doesn't he look like Daren with those on?  He actually really doesn't mind them.
Hudson got to enjoy his first USU football game.  No, not an actual game yet....but one from the comfort of our own my parents home.  I don't know how much he actually loved it but I know I sure did!  Oh how I've missed you football!  Hands down my favorite outfit of his though.  He looked just down right adorable!
I wish I had more to share about out anniversary but nothing worth documenting. It is a wonderful, hilarious memory but nothing more can be said about it. 5 years and I still love the dude!  My family- the dogs are in the ghetto-rigged kennel for the 4 wheeler- is practically perfect in every way!
