B.K.N.O

Boston Kids Night Out

Oh boy, Kelsi's work did it again. Provided us, us being AJ, Michael, Kelsi and myself, much entertainment by having a Ski Night up at Beaver Mountain. When I signed up(prior to breaking my hand) I didn't realize just what the night would bring. And boy, oh boy, it was the best night I've had in a really long time. I was really nervous about my broken hand, don't worry nothing happen I wore my brace and all is well! I wish I could explain just how hysterical the night was...there are only few words that need to be used....
  • One of us did not make it down the hill once entirely on their skiies....
  • One of us only made it down the hill once...
  • One of us did actually make it down twice, only because they had to go back down to come back and help the others
  • and the last one of us did their own thing and went 3 times...

p.s. we were on the mountain for roughly an hour....

And what Boston family event wouldn't be complete without someone peeing their pants....What a funny, funny night.....The Ski Rental shop man hit on me....Who wouldn't want this?

My favorite quote from the evening...anyone who can guess who said first wins something super special.... "I think I just bit my lip in anger"

Thanks so much Boston Folks for keeping me laughing and entertained for the best hour on the mountain EVER! Let's go again....

Valentine's Day

I have decided Valentine's Day needs to be forgotten. I'm sure it causes more fights than good. Shouldn't you tell your significant other you love them everyday, not just because someone tells you to? Now, if only it were that easy to be ok with not giving into the stupid holiday.

Since Daren works until midnight, I decided to surprise him on Friday night when he got home from work. This is what he got to come home to....

  • A giant balloon, something in which I've given him since we first started dating.
  • Mini Heart Shaped cheesecakes...he won't eat any other treat
  • Bubble Bath and Rose Pedals that you put into the bath. He's kind of a girl that way he really likes his baths.
  • Sweet Tart conversation hearts
  • A wall charger for his iPod
  • A plate that says You Are Special Today. When he was growing up his parents had a similar plate. If it was their birthday or they were good at church they would get to eat on the plate. I will now carry that onto our children.

He was surprised! He also surprised me with a giant stuffed bear.

On actual Valentine's Day, we went to a movie that afternoon with the fam. We went and saw Taken. Not exactly what I was expecting but thats ok. Unfortunately, I got really sick after the movie. I wasn't up for much anyways that day but that really put a damper on the day. We ended up going grocery shopping! wooo hooo! Then got a RedBox and Old Grist Mill(I got soup...) to go and went home and went to bed. But overall, I'm not mad about how the day turned out. I love my husband!!!!!!

On another note, finally finished the stripes on Friday. It was quite a task to do it one handed, hence the reason their is paint all over my splint thing. Sorry the picture is so small, my camera was out in the car and all I had was my phone. Didn't really get to do the faux finish as planned but I think it looks really good still. Every night, when we're going to bed, Daren goes on and on about how it just makes the room look so much better. He wasn't so sure about it but now that he sees it he is happy. Which I, of course, love to hear!!

Parents Gone Part II

Like I said, I wanted birthday cake...So that is exactly what me and Michael got after school. It was a bit much I couldn't finish it all. So, I shared with AJ. Followed by LaBeau's for dinner....

Thursday was your pretty basic day. I did nothing until my brothers got home... then we played games and Wii Fit! Hoola Hoop Record 3294 spins, can anyone beat that?

Friday didn't really do much....Oh here's a funny story....well, it's too confusing on a blog so to make a long story short. We tried to go to dinner with Daren but as texts tend to be it was too confusing and we ended up in 2 different spots. Whoops.

On Saturday we went to lunch at the Coppermill with Kelristopher. I really like eating out...can ya tell??

After lunch, me and the boys finally went and bought the paint for my bedroom. We didn't get the stripes done due to not enough tape... Like?? I'll be sure to post pictures of the completed room. Well, the paint it'll be some time before we get the new bed I'm dying for!

please forgive the fatso picture, I ended up gaining 5 lbs this week! HOLY CRAP!

Don't let all these good times deceive you...there were bad things from the week....
  • I found a freaking grey hair in my head!! Shut up... I thought those came later in life...Maybe I was just seeing things???
  • I have a spiderish looking vein on my leg...is that normal? I hope again I'm just paranoid of early aging...?
  • My ipod decided it hates me so it cleared all my music from it...and of course my computer was not happy with me awhile back so I decided to delete music off of it so now I only have 700 songs on my ipod. Most of it is Daren's and we definitely don't agree on the term "good music"
  • My hand is "healed"(as the doctor said) but hurts. It swells up quite a bit after doing too much with it. Bummer dude.

Oh The Things Your Children Will Do...

So, since January 31st I have been in charge of my brothers. Sure they are probably old enough to ultimately take care of themselves, minus getting up and ready for school. But it's always a good time when I'm around so I have been staying there. So on Saturday, we went to Happy Sushi. We decided to try "Heart Attack"- jalepenjo halves, spicy tuna, cream cheese- No thanks. I won't have that again. That with the Mexican Crunch Roll, Vegas Roll(also spicy) and AJ's Ramen(which burns your lips as well...) my stomach was overloaded with spicyness. Oh I could eat there everyday though! The fun really began on Sunday, with the superbowl. Kelsi and I decided we were going to have a nice get together and watch the game. And what superbowl party doesn't have food....We had fondue. It was so wonderful, the best fondue we've ever done. Thanks to Crystal for the good cheese recipe... Michael and I had pretty much devoured it all before Kelristopher showed up(thanks to whoever stole Steven's car, it made it so they were late!)

And, of course, as tradition always is the Boston Family tends to cheer for the underdogs(Cardinals). However, AJ has a mind of his own so he was cheering for Steelers...LAME! It made for a really entertaining day. Forgive my lame picture, I was "pointing" at the logo...little did I think it would turn out quite so horrifically. Much like the outcome of the game. I was so disappointed but the cardinals put up a good fight in the second half...

On Monday, I picked up the boys from school and finally made the much anticipated venture upward to Pepperidge Farm. Unfortunaly, it wasn't a great cookie day. We only got bulk Raspberry Milanos(only I like them...) and Lisbons, some chocolately thing. But I'm the greatest sister...they told me so!! Of course, while waiting for AJ to come outside me and Michael went ahead and ate 3 BAGS of Crazy Bread..I'd like to say I only ate 1 bag, he ate the other 2. Haha, my body hates me this week. No normal food at all.
Yesterday, Tuesday, we didn't do anything fun. Except AJ has incorporated nightly family game time. Thank goodness no one else is home cause I don't think anyone would do this. We've played some sort of game as a "family", I don't know if you can consider us 3 a family necessarily. We've gotten really good at Quiddler so beware..we will win!
Today, I'm stuck at the office while the carpets get cleaned and the computer guy fixes all our many problems. Let me go ahead and say...YAY! The internet here finally is a wonderful speed....I'm starving. I wonder what wonderful treat Michael will convince me to buy when I pick him up today. Forget about lunch...I'm thinking birthday cake!

It May Not Be My Hip...

But it is my hand. It has been a fear of mine that I will fall on ice and break a bone, mainly my hip. Yes, I did indeed break my hand. How on earth did that happen you are asking yourself?!?! Well, on this "rainy" day I decided to go out and get our mail...next thing I know I am slidin ever so graciously down our porch stairs. I just pray none of my neighbors saw. I hurried, as quickly as you can go on deceiving sheet of ice that is approximately 1/2 inch thick, up the stairs to start crying hysterically. I then texted Daren informing him of what had happened...At this point I did not think it was broken. I text others asking advice, it was really swollen but I couldn't feel anything. Still didn't think anything of it... Took a picture of it. Couldn't really get my hand in any other position but I don't think it even looked THAT bad...

So, we go in...3 xrays later..it is indeed broken!!! Just my luck... It is in a weird place apparently. Daren took the xray with him otherwise I would've posted the actual xray. I have to go get a hard cast on within a week(they better let me pick my color this time!!!!!!)

Once I got to my parents house, Daren drove I am not sure how I am going to drive stick with a crippled hand...typing is hard enough.. but anyways, I learned that Michael and AJ both fell down on the ice. Michael's also caused a bit of an injury(free though...)

Proceed with caution on ice folks!!!

and...yes, for I'm sure not the last time, it is my left hand so I'm not completely screwed....

Not Exactly My Sport...

But I still LOVE the food....
Kelsi's work, ChemDry, is just about the neatest, employee pleasing company I've seen. They do all kinds of nice things for their employees....Lagoon Days, Ski Nights, Movies, and Aggie Basketball games...

Before the game began we went to one of the conference rooms where they had gotten Coppermill to cater a little meal for everyone. Not my kind of food....hence the reason I felt ok about devouring a hotdog...YUM! It was just my dad, AJ, and of course Kelristopher.

I LOVED THE HALFTIME ENTERTAINMENT! It was the "Golden Girls"...a group of 50-92 year old ladies from Provo who like to dance.. They were some of the best shimmiers. They even did the robot. I hope I'm in that kind of shape one day...

Here is a picture of the 92 year old dancing with Big Blue. She ended with the splits but I couldn't get my camera working fast enough to capture that.

And this picture has nothing to do with the basketball game. We went down to Daren's parents this weekend for his cousin, Jake's, wedding. This picture shows you just how cold it was down there.... I thought that was a pretty cool picture I got....

Oh How Things Change

Bostons-2005

Today I received this picture in an email from Andria....I felt I should post it just to show just how different the Boston family is 3 years later. I can't stop laughing!!!

  • You know your little brothers are growing up when they eat food you still choose not to eat...
  • I wish AJ would go back to wearing glasses...however, less lopsided...
  • I think if Michael still were that size he'd still be wearing that dang Mardi Gras shirt...thanks Brian...
  • What on earth is that on Kelsi's foot? Was this another flip flop year?
  • I, unfortunately, don't look any different...At least not to my eye
  • You know your little brothers are growing up when 3 years ago they looked to be the same size but now they weigh almost 100 pounds different!

I love my family!! I know I say this every post....I'm thankful that I'm so close to my siblings.

Doesn't Mikey look SO much better with meat on his bones!?!?!?

Isn't it great being about to have a lot of FFF(forced family fun)?!?! At least we can hang out as a family now!!

Bostons- 2008

...still just as photogenic...
