...smorgasbord...

This will be my last post before my little man arrives, unless he really doesn't come on his own and I have to wait until the 25th.  I really have nothing positive to say.  Some would say I'm quite negative...I don't do well with no sleep....Alright, maybe I'm making myself sound a lot worse than I really am. I am really anxious to get my baby here.  We really haven't been up to much.  Just finishing up small things getting ready for him.  I've been taking every advantage to go out to eat, as it will be awhile before I do that I'm sure.

Daren and my dad went on their 2nd annual steelhead fishing trip to Challis, Idaho last weekend.  My doctor was also out of town so it was ideal that baby didn't make his appearance that soon. Every time I didn't answer the phone, Daren called someone else making sure everything was ok. He said he thinks they went a bit too early and didn't have as much success as they would have liked.  They were going to go this next weekend, uhhh nope.

Last week at the doctor, they did an ultrasound to make sure everything is ok since I'm "gigantic".  He was measuring 8 lbs 10 oz.  Gee whiz, don't I know it.  Tomorrow is my next doctors appointment where they will be stripping my membranes and hopefully will get things moving along.  Can you imagine if I didn't have him until my due date(just a reminder, that is 10 days away) he'd be almost 11 lbs possibly!  Today when I got the confirmation call about my appointment, my heart was racing! Just because it really could possibly happen this weekend.

Which means, obviously this could be my last day at work. It has been so much harder than I ever could have imagined it to be. But I just keep telling everyone I'll be back next week, because there's a pretty good chance I will. It's amazing how much I can get done when I'm in the back secluded by myself.  We've had computer problems, which didn't get solved until early this morning, which makes it pretty darn tricky to train someone.

I will post some pictures of the nursery, there have been only very slight changes made to it... In fact, I have one more thing I'm in the process of making for above his crib. Daren doesn't think I'll have it finished before he comes, I will.

I think that is about it....Like I said, I'm boring and negative.  Next time you see this blog there should be a picture of a very beautiful(very large) baby boy! Excuse me, handsome baby boy!

Here I am in all my 37 week glory.  I'm actually almost 39 weeks now.  I really didn't want to post this picture but part of me just doesn't care anymore.  I know someday I'll want to look back and (hopefully) laugh.

And this is just a random picture I wanted to post.  Keera, my SIL, had a surprise party for Eric back at the beginning of March and we were the first ones there so we got to hang out with our nephew Landon.  I could barely get him to hold still long enough for this picture.  And I like it so, that's why I'm sharing it with you.
Oh my gosh...I'm this close to becoming an actual, responsible mom! Wish me luck!

Terrible 35s?

I believe my oldest child, Kona, is going through a phase.  I can't figure her out.  I'm not sure if she's going through a rebellious stage? Senses that changes are a brewing? Or if she's just gone psychotic. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she's become a genius and knows that she's soon going to have a little brother. But GOOD GRIEF!

 Saturday
I bake a beautiful spring confetti cake to take to my parents house for Sunday dinner.  I'm sure you all know where this is going. The wrapped up cake was demolished while Daren and I went out that night.  Demolished is an understatement.  I knew Kona was the culprit.  Meli couldn't reach the counter as much as she'd prefer otherwise I'm sure. I was screaming! My beautiful cake, ok it wasn't that beautiful but golly I love sugar these days. Kona had frosting in some very unusual places....on the tips of her ears(naturally from dangling into the cake) on her neck, and her chest. Oh did I fail to mention the pan was still on the counter when we got home? She's got to have some awesome thigh muscles to hold herself up long enough to eat the cake. She had to of been dropping pieces down to Meli, Meli had frosting in her beard and lots of cake on the top of her head.  On the plus side, it was the best they've ever smelled.  A dog that smells like frosting? Yes please!

Sunday
That delicious smelling dog was no longer.  I knew Kona had to get sick eventually but my goodness the flatulence was unbearable!! I was so happy, she had to of learned her lesson.  She had an upset stomach and we could move on from that crap.  So, knowing I can't live without my sugar makes myself some chocolate chip cookies.  They were pretty nasty cookies, clearly I'm not a baker.  But it helps with the sweet tooth just fine. I put them in a heavy duty tupperware to prevent any problem.

Monday
I get a very angry call from Daren wanting to know if there was chocolate in the container that was now on the floor, not the lid just the container.  WHAT?! She got into that? She opened the lid?  So, my chocolate chip cookies are gone.

Moral of the story:  What was I thinking? Damn dogs!

Showers

On February 19th, my sister's threw me the greatest shower! It really has been so nice to have something to look forward to to keep me distracted from how slow time is going. I really did try hard to get pictures, but I was just having too much fun to even think about it.  I really should have gotten a picture of all the food.  There was TONS of food.  And it was all my faves.  You can't go wrong with homemade cream cheese filled won-tons, flaming hot cheetos, "candy" sushi, a white chocolate fountain, and lemonade!  My boy will seriously be the best dressed little man around.  Well, I think so anyways.  I appreciated everyone who made the effort to come to my shower.  My sisters definitely put a lot of work into it.
The following weekend Keera and Megan threw me a shower down in Utah County. Thank goodness the weather cooperated and didn't make it a horrible drive for when it was actually going on.  Keera made me a diaper cake, seriously I've been dying for the day I'd get one of those!  I really am grateful for sister in laws who would be willing to go to such a hassle for me.  My mom and Kelsi came down with me.  I put Kelsi in charge of picture taking.  I got some really good stuff that's for sure.  I am finally starting to feel ready for this.

Quick Hello

I promise not every thing in my life is baby oriented (not entirely anyways)  It does consume a lot my thoughts, but I do actually have a life still.  Daren and I completed the birthing class. We actually are really glad we did it (we weren't at first) Almost 9 weeks left and I'd say we're pretty much ready.

Anyways, I had a doctors appointment today.  She wanted me in for an ultrasound because I was measuring quite a few weeks big.   The ultrasound tech was a hoot today.  He was a good time.  I was still nervous before this ultrasound, who knows what they could find out.  No surprise, the kid has a gigantic Boston head. But he also has a gigantic body apparently.   He's just all around a bit larger than he should be at this point. 88 percentile (head is 97)  I made him make sure my little baby is actually a boy. Sure enough I don't have to run out and buy anything girly.  He is definitely a boy!
This picture is horrible (it's a picture of the picture in really bad lighting...not my baby, he is photogenic) But I had to show it because look at those lips! He definitely got his mamas lips.
I feel like I got a lot of information at this appointment it was hard to actually comprehend everything. I really have very few complaints. I wish the crazy dreams would go away-  Jerry Sloan and breast pumps was last night.  How they were connected I'm still not sure but they were. Usually whatever was on the news is present in my dreams.  A lot of Jimmer Fredette dreams.  I also hate that I can't enjoy a normal sized meal (normal to me...those proportion followers would probably think it was ideal what I've had to cut back to) I get full way to fast. Really for the most part I love being pregnant (I think part of it is due to the fact I'm terrified of labor)  I even really enjoy when little man kicks my ribs. Thankfully I've got some busy weekends ahead of me so I can keep distracted for the next 9 weeks. Excellent!

One Long Week Off...

So, I had a week off of work.  It felt like an eternity.  I'm very grateful for the time off mainly because my brain doesn't shut off with the to-do list that I've got in my brain.  However, my parents and brothers(this is the first time it's ever happened this way so it was shocking) went on a cruise and I was babysitting Charlie.  The first couple of days I kept Charlie up at my parents house and just went up to let him out during the day.  That became too exhausting so I took him to my house.  Oh I will never own 3 dogs! That was a lot of work as well, but in the end I kind of ended up missing the little guy when I had to take him back home.

We went for walks when the weather permitted

That was also a crazy idea....they were all over the place...
In other news,  I did get a lot of stuff done for my baby's room.  Not everything by any means...I'm still not even close but that's ok!
I made his quilt.  First and last quilt I will ever make ;)
His room is set up....minus crib which is coming soon..
I put the dresser together....not alone, Daren wouldn't let me work with the wood glue BAHHAHAH
I made some art for the man's room.  Hippos seemed fitting...
Other than that, I've just been eating lots and reading tons and tons of books. I painted my toes last night, oh for crying out loud- that was a chore and a half. I still can see my toes though. I go to the dr every 2 weeks now, ultrasound next friday.  Hurray 11 more weeks!

Welcome To The Year 2000....I Mean 2011

A new year is among us.  I can't believe it's 2011!! Last year I posted my new years resolutions and I am here to report I didn't do so bad.  I had wanted to go on a trip with just me and the mister,  sew a bunch, balance my checkbook, and quit having the lettuce taken off of my food.
I know it doesn't count as just the two of us but I'm counting when we went to California as our trip.  It was fantastic!
I am sewing a bunch for sure! I made some sheets for baby's room so far, next up is the bumper.  Also for Christmas Daren decided he wanted a new beanie made by me, he wouldn't let me measure his head and told me to make a large one...so I did.  The picture below shows just how huge it was. I'm going to have to try again.  I also posted a picture below of my little guys shoes I made him.  Hey, I had a lot of free time over the holidays.
Now back to the resolutions...balancing my checkbook went to hell in a hand basket because Daren finally was able to be added to my banking account and he's off in his own world swiping away but that's ok.
And as for eating the lettuce that didn't last either.  In fact, I never really started. However, since being pregnant prefer the lettuce on my Old Grist Mill(a local sandwich place) and when I made tacos I put lettuce on them as well, go figure.
I'm not making resolutions this year!! I'm just an overachiever right now as it is, so I'll just go with that and get everything done on my lists.

I'm posting these pictures that Kelsi took, I think she'll be surprised to see that I am.  But for New Years Eve Kelsi brought up the Michael Jackson Experience game(along with her fedora) and I had a wicked good time.  I bought Daren a dvd of some of his music videos and he has made me watch it weekly, if not more, the past couple of weeks. So it made me appreciate this game.  I was sad Daren was home sick and didn't get to participate.  I danced for an hour and a half. I'm sure baby didn't love it nor did my body with how much I was aching the next day.  But I would recommend this for everyone.--- that is not my shirt it's Michael's I had to borrow so I could take my sweatshirt off.

Now, as my one reader(or commenter) mentioned, I needed to post a belly picture. I was planning to but it got the fire under me to actually do take it.  I really don't know why I don't like it, I normally love attention just for some reason don't love this kind of attention.
Right now I am halfway through my 25th week.  Can ya believe only 15 more weeks? I about had a nervous breakdown when I was trying to get to sleep and couldn't stop thinking about how I am not even remotely prepared! I thought I was doing well on buying things but I think it's so unknown that I just don't even know what to get. I took a picture of all the stuff I have so far... I'M BEHIND!

Merry Christmas 2010

My brain is fried.  I know they tell you that will happen when you're pregnant but I forget some of the stupidest things. But as I always do, I am not too good at getting out my camera.  But at least I have some pictures to document the festivities.

Christmas Eve, I can't figure out if I'm suppose to want to do any celebrating of anything that day or what.  How the day was spent was Daren stuck with his nephew(who was very nervous about not being in bed before Santa came) up at Porcupine Dam. I borrowed my parents new vacuum to see if it's the one I wanted, so I spent over an hour vacuuming my house.  Seriously....we know how to party.

On Christmas day, I woke up before Daren did and just did some cleaning and work around the house.  Once Daren woke up we opened each other gifts. He says I'm hard to buy gifts for, but he always blows me away with how fantastic of a job he does! He got me some sewing stuff as I plan to make baby Gus's baby bedding. Baby Gus is also the proud owner of some Aggie apparel, some bought by me, some bought by Daren.  After that, we headed up to my parents house for the Christmas celebration!

Boston Family Christmas just wasn't the same this year.  We celebrated the 26th-28th but Brian and his family chose to not come out this year, as they'll be moving back soon enough.  We did the gift exchange on the 26th.  Michael and AJ had us....OH NO!....but they did so well! I actually really liked my gift. Including a baby's owner manual, which I think is great.  We thankfully did get to Skype the Philly Bostons and I always forget how much I miss them.

On the 27th, I(Daren had to work these days...bummer) went out to Kelsi's new house and had breakfast....and then lunch.....and then we went bowling.  Me and Audrey were a team....
....... She was thrilled can't ya tell?
Later that night instead of doing our usual gingerbread house decorating...we decided to decorate "gingerbread men" but really we wanted sugar cookies.  But everyone had to decorate the cookie as someone else.  It was hilarious.  I wish I had gotten all of the cookies because they were good.  The picture below, from left to right, it was me- made by Joe (and my pregnant belly) Andria-made my Kelsi(and her old permed hair) my mom- made my Kennady and then mine is the one on the bottom...which was of Kelsi.
The "winner" was Audrey...made by my mom.

Overall, it was a really good time.  I'm sad we didn't get a chance to get down to Daren's parent's.  The Gordon's picked one of the days that my family had already scheduled everything. I'm so grateful for everyone and everything they did for Daren and I during the holidays.....

Oh and PS...yes, I loved my parents vacuum I bought my own.  Yipee!!!!
